Since 1998, Around the World Children’s Center has provided quality care and supervision to young students.

Both indoors and good cause and effect essay topics outdoors, the environment paperratter is designed to nurture the individualized needs of the student’s cognitive, gross motor and social-emotional abilities.

The low teacher-to-child ratio makes it possible for staff to focus on the specific needs of each student.

At the onset of enrollment, the student is assessed in the areas of phonemic awareness, name recognition, Math concepts and social-emotional well-being. The outcome of the assessment determines the students starting point in the classroom setting.

Monthly assessments provides continued support in creating lesson plans that further the overall growth and development of each student.

Lesson Plans are designed by the programs exclusive academic coordinator. In the classroom the staff support the lesson plans by creating activities that enhance the objective of the day.

‘Hands-on’ interaction is a valuable component of the program. It is proven that students learn best when given the opportunity to see, smell, touch, hear and/or feel what they are being taught.

The classroom environment provides visuals that stimulate the five senses of learning.

The classrooms are spacious and complete with stations like the block area, library, dramatic play, science, manipulatives and arts and crafts.

Daily learning begins with story time, music and movement, snack time, Phonemic Awareness, Sight Words activities, Outdoor Play, Match Concepts, Lunch and rest time.

The core of the day begins at 8:30 and ends at 3:00pm.

Afterschool care from 3:00 to 6:00pm provides outdoor play, snack, open areas, table activities and departure.

Preschool Site Director

Ms. Dora’s experience in the field of Early Child Development began almost 15 years ago at Around the World Children’s Centers first site, located on Downey Avenue.

This year Ms. Dora is excited to be part of Around the World’s Learning Centers preschool program as site director. Ms. Dora is looking forward to a fun filled year of learning and growing alongside the students and their families.

Suzette Cortez-Phillipy, Director and Owner

Suzette Cortez – Phillipy “Ms. Suzie” began her passion with young children at Rancho Los Amigos’ infant room, as an ROP student.

Twenty four years later, Ms. Suzie’s passion for Early Childhood Education motivates her to continue providing enriching programs for young students.

Ms. Suzie’s personal mission is to offer quality care and education to each student that is entrusted in her care.
